-
Are Yutrients ingredients independently or third-party tested?
Yes, independent testing forms part of our quality process, although the type and frequency of testing varies by ingredient.
Our suppliers test the ingredients they source and provide Certificates of Analysis documenting relevant results and specifications. Yutrients also carries out random third-party testing on ingredients as an additional quality check.
We prefer to be transparent about this rather than suggesting that every ingredient undergoes exactly the same independent testing programme. -
Can you trace the ingredients used in my individual blend?
Yes. Ingredient and batch information forms part of our manufacturing and quality-control process, allowing us to trace the materials used in production.
That traceability is important because it means we can link ingredients back to the relevant supplier and batch documentation, including Certificates of Analysis where applicable. -
Do you test for contaminants such as heavy metals and microbes?
The tests carried out depend on the ingredient and the relevant quality specifications for that material.
Our suppliers are responsible for testing and quality control of the ingredients they supply, with results documented where applicable through Certificates of Analysis.
We also carry out random independent third-party testing of ingredients.
If you have a question about the testing carried out on a particular ingredient, please contact us and we can provide further information. -
How do you choose and approve your ingredient suppliers?
We take supplier selection seriously.
Our ingredient suppliers hold a BRCGS Grade A rating, meaning they operate within a recognised framework for food safety, quality and manufacturing standards.
We also require appropriate ingredient documentation and Certificates of Analysis, helping us maintain oversight of the quality and specifications of the ingredients entering our manufacturing process. -
How do you ensure the ingredients in my formula won't counteract each other?
At the moment, our formula builder does not automatically flag every possible interaction between ingredients.
We provide clear information on individual ingredients, recommended amounts and relevant warnings to help you make informed choices. If you are combining a number of ingredients, taking medication, managing a health condition, or are unsure whether certain ingredients are suitable together, we recommend checking with your GP, nutritionist or another qualified healthcare professional before finalising your blend. -
How do you make sure my blend contains the right ingredients at the right amounts?
Every Yutrients blend is made individually to the formula you have chosen.
Ingredients are carefully weighed according to your specific formulation as part of our controlled manufacturing process in our UK facility. Your finished product is labelled with your daily amount and a full breakdown of the ingredients in your blend, so you can see exactly what you are taking.
Our quality controls cover both the ingredients entering our facility and the process used to create your individual blend. -
How do you make sure your ingredients are safe and high quality?
Quality starts with the suppliers we choose. We work with suppliers that hold a BRCGS Grade A rating, demonstrating a high standard of food safety, quality and manufacturing controls.
Ingredients are supplied with a Certificate of Analysis (CoA) recording relevant testing or quality specifications, and our suppliers carry out their own ingredient testing as part of their quality processes.
We add another layer of assurance by carrying out random independent third-party testing on ingredients ourselves. -
What checks and inspections does your manufacturing facility go through?
Our UK manufacturing facility has been rigorously inspected and audited by local Environmental Health Officers and accredited independent third-party auditors. They assess the standards, processes and controls we have in place to make sure we are operating safely and appropriately, and our facility has been approved for the manufacture of Yutrients blends.
-
What happens if an ingredient doesn't meet your quality standards?
An ingredient must meet our required quality and specification standards before we are happy for it to be used in a Yutrients blend.
If an ingredient or batch does not meet the required standards, it would not be approved for use. Our supplier controls, Certificates of Analysis and additional random third-party testing all form part of the checks designed to identify potential quality issues before ingredients reach customers. -
What makes Yutrients different from other 'personalised' supplement brands?
Many personalised supplement brands use a quiz to match you with one of a selection of pre-made formulas. Yutrients works differently.
You’re in control of what goes into your blend. Choose your own ingredients and levels, or use our guided formulation tool to help you decide what might work for you.
Your unique formula is then made to order in our own UK manufacturing facility using carefully selected, high-quality ingredients. Nothing picked from a shelf. Nothing pre-mixed. Your formula is made for you. -
What testing do your ingredients go through?
Testing depends on the individual ingredient and the specifications that apply to it.
Our suppliers carry out testing and quality checks on the ingredients they provide, with relevant results recorded on a Certificate of Analysis.
Yutrients also conducts random independent third-party testing as an additional layer of quality assurance.
Together, these checks help us confirm that the ingredients we use meet the standards we expect before they are used in your blend. -
How does personalised nutrition work?
With Yutrients, you’re in control of what goes into your daily blend. Choose your own ingredients and levels, or use our guided formulation tool to help you build a formula around your goals, lifestyle and diet.
We then make your unique blend to order in our UK manufacturing facility, ready for you to take in one daily scoop. -
Why does my Yutrients blend come with a digital measuring spoon?
Your Yutrients spoon is designed to help you measure your unique daily amount accurately. Because every blend is made to order, the amount you need may be different from someone else’s.
Simply switch the spoon on, press ‘tare’ to reset the display to 0.0g, then add your blend until you reach the daily amount shown on your label. For the most accurate reading, keep the spoon level while weighing.
Your measuring spoon is included free with your first order, so please keep it safe and continue using it with future deliveries. -
What's the difference between Yutrients and off-the-shelf supplements?
Off-the-shelf supplements come in fixed formulas with set ingredients and amounts. With Yutrients, you choose what goes into your blend and the levels you want, or use our guided formulation tool to help you decide.
Your formula is then made to order in our UK manufacturing facility, giving you one daily blend built around your choices. -
Can I change my formula later?
Yes, anytime. You can adjust your formula every month — add an ingredient, drop one, change a dose — from your account. The next tin we make uses your updated formula. Subscribers can also pause or cancel any month, no questions.
-
Is Yutrients right for any diet or lifestyle?
Yutrients gives you control over what goes into your blend, so you can choose ingredients that fit with your diet and preferences.
We clearly label ingredients and allergens to help you make informed choices, including if you follow a vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free or dairy-free diet.
If you have specific dietary requirements, allergies, a medical condition or take medication, it’s always a good idea to check the ingredients carefully and speak to your GP or another qualified healthcare professional if you’re unsure. -
Where are your formulas made?
Every formula is blended by hand in our UK facility, batched fresh to each customer's spec.
-
Who is behind Yutrients?
Three founders — Graham, Colin and Dom — with 50 years of supplement-industry experience between them. It started as a kitchen-table conversation about why supplements weren’t personal.
-
How did Yutrients start?
Graham and Colin had seen the supplement category up close — labels that promised everything, proprietary blends that hid what was inside, formulas that arrived in a tin and sat half-finished in a cupboard. Graham's son Dom said it first, half-joking: 'If I could get this in one scoop, made the way I want it, I'd take it every day.' Three cups of tea later the answer was obvious.
-
Is Yutrients safe to take?
Yes — within sensible doses, which we enforce. Every ingredient page shows a safe upper intake; the builder warns you if you go over. A registered nutritionist reviews every catalogue entry before it goes live, and flags formulas that mix oddly. If you're pregnant, breastfeeding, on prescription medication, or have a medical condition, check with your GP before starting.
-
How does the safety check system work?
Every blend runs through built-in safety checks that flag any ingredient above recommended dietary intake levels before we make it. We won't blend a formula that breaks our safe-upper-intake rules. Our nutritionists review every catalogue entry before it goes live.
-
Are you regulated?
Yes. We operate to UK food supplement regulations under the Food Safety Act and our facility is registered with the local authority. Each batch is traceable end-to-end. Supplements are not medicines, so we can't claim to treat or prevent any condition — and we don't.
-
Can I speak to a nutritionist?
Yes. Every Yutrients catalogue entry is reviewed by a qualified UK nutritionist before it goes live. If you have a specific question about your formula or want a personal recommendation, drop us a note via Contact and one of our team will get back to you within 1 working day.
-
Where do your ingredients come from?
From a small list of UK and EU suppliers we've worked with for years. Each has documented certificates of analysis, sourcing region, and processing methods. We don't take new ingredients lightly — every addition gets nutritionist + ops sign-off, and we publish what's verified vs what's supplier-claim only.
-
Why don't you use proprietary blends?
Because they hide what you're taking. A 'proprietary blend' on a label is legally allowed to disclose the total mass but not the breakdown — so a 500mg blend might be 490mg of one cheap filler and 10mg of the active you actually wanted. Yutrients shows every ingredient and every dose, every time.
-
How many ingredients can I include?
Up to 100 ingredients per formula. Most customers pick between 5 and 15. There's no minimum number of ingredients, and every blend is one simple personalised price.
-
What form are your ingredients in?
Powder — sourced and listed by its generic chemical form. The exact form (e.g. magnesium glycinate vs citrate) is shown on the ingredient page. We pick forms based on bioavailability and clinical evidence.
-
Are there known interactions between ingredients?
The builder flags interactions with other ingredients in your blend as you build. For medical interactions with prescription drugs, please consult your GP or pharmacist — we don't have your medical record so we can't catch every case.
-
Why is the cost what it is?
We pass through ingredient cost + a flat dispensing fee. Premium / patented forms cost more — generic equivalents are cheaper but equally effective. The builder shows the cost contribution of each ingredient so you can see exactly where your money goes.
-
Do I have to subscribe?
No. One-time tins are fine. Most customers subscribe because it's cheaper and they want a consistent monthly delivery, but there's no commitment — you can buy one tin, decide for yourself, and come back when you're ready.
-
How do I cancel my subscription?
Manage or cancel any time from your account — no phone calls, no retention scripts. Cancelling a subscription doesn't refund tins that have already shipped.
-
How long does delivery take?
Because every blend is made to order, please allow up to 5 days for us to blend and dispatch it. It then travels with Royal Mail Tracked — we email you the tracking link the moment it leaves our lab. Subscription refills are timed so you never run out.
-
Do you charge for delivery?
No. Free delivery on every order. No minimum spend, no Prime tier — it's a custom blend and we ship it to you for free.
-
Do you ship outside the UK?
Not at launch. We ship to UK addresses only. International shipping is on the roadmap but not active. If you'd like to be notified when we ship to your country, drop us a line via Contact.
-
How do I check my order status?
Order updates are emailed at every stage — order received, in production, shipped, delivered. You can also log in to your account to see the live status.
-
When will my formula arrive?
Because your formula is made to order, please allow up to 5 days for us to blend and dispatch it. It then travels with Royal Mail Tracked — tracking is emailed the moment it leaves our lab. Subscription refills are timed so you never run out.
-
How do I take it?
Your blend is designed to be mixed into something rather than taken on its own. Because Yutrients uses pure ingredients, each blend has its own natural flavour, and some will taste stronger than others.
For the best experience, we recommend blending your daily amount into a thick, flavoursome smoothie, a tasty juice or flavoured protein shake, as these tend to do the best job of masking the taste. When we get your order, we'll run your blend through our AI recipe engine and send you three smoothie, shake or juice ideas designed to work well with your formula.”
The amount you need may vary depending on the ingredients in your blend, so feel free to experiment with the volume until you find what works best for you. Blend thoroughly and make it part of a routine that’s easy to stick to. -
Does it need refrigeration?
No. Stored at room temperature in the resealable tin, the powder is stable for the full month.
-
Are there allergens in my formula?
The builder flags any allergen you've selected. Each tin also lists its full ingredient declaration on the label.
-
Can I return a tin?
Once your tin has been made, no. Every Yutrients tin is custom-blended to your formula in our UK lab — once mixing starts it can't be un-mixed. You can cancel an order any time BEFORE it goes into production (usually a few hours after you place it) — just email us at askdom@yutrients.com and we'll cancel it for you. If your tin arrives damaged or doesn't match your formula, we'll replace it free.
-
How do I cancel an order?
Email us at askdom@yutrients.com (or reply to your order confirmation email) with your order number and we'll cancel it — there's no self-serve cancel button. If we haven't started mixing your tin you'll get a full refund (5–10 working days to reach your card, depending on your bank); once it's in production, cancellation isn't possible (the made-to-order rule).
-
What if my tin arrives damaged?
Contact us within 14 days with your order number and a photo of the damage. We'll send a free replacement, usually within 48 hours of receiving your message. No need to return the damaged tin.
-
Are your prices VAT-inclusive?
Yes. All prices shown on the site include VAT at the standard UK rate where applicable.
-
What payment methods do you accept?
Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Shop Pay, Amazon Pay, and PayPal. All transactions are processed securely through Shopify Payments and your card details are never seen by us.
-
Does buying from you affect my statutory rights?
No. Nothing in our Terms limits your statutory rights as a UK consumer under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.
-
What do you do with my data?
We use it to run your account and ship your tin. Account info (name, email, address), your formulas, and order history are stored against your customer record. We don't sell your data. Photos you upload to the image scanner are used for the scan then deleted — not stored. You can export everything or delete your account anytime from your settings.
-
How do I delete my account?
From Account → Settings → Delete account. Your personal data is wiped within 7 days. Order history is retained for 6 years per HMRC tax records, but with PII removed.
-
Can I export my data?
Yes. From Account → Settings → Export data, you'll receive a machine-readable copy of everything we hold about you. Standard UK GDPR right.
-
Do you sell my data to advertisers?
No. We never sell your personal data. We share it only with the contracted processors we need to run the service (listed in our Privacy Policy).
-
How quickly will you reply?
Within one working day for email and chat. Most queries get answered the same day.
-
What are your customer-service hours?
Email + chat are monitored Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm UK time. Outside those hours we get back to you the next working morning.
-
How long does the guided builder chat take?
Usually 3 to 5 minutes — about 8 quick questions covering goals, lifestyle, and any existing supplements.
-
Will the guided builder ask anything personal?
Only what's needed to build a safe formula — age range, gender, and lifestyle. No medical history, no contact info required to chat.
-
Can I change my answers after the chat?
Yes. Once we recommend a formula you'll land on the builder where every ingredient and dose is editable.
-
Do you store what I tell the guided builder?
Your chat session is stored against your account so you can resume it. You can delete a session anytime from your account.
-
How do I build a personalised formula from the catalogue?
Tap any ingredient to land on its detail page, or head straight to the BYO builder and pick from the full catalogue.
-
Does the price change by dose?
